Former Manchester United star Jordi Cruyff is to join Maccabi Tel Aviv at the end of the season.

The Dutchman, who is the son of Holland legend Johan Cruyff, has accepted the role of technical director at the Israeli club.

Cruyff has been working in Cyprus with AEK Larnaka, but has opted to move to pastures new in search of a fresh challenge.

Cruyff had a playing career that included notable spells with Manchester United and Alaves, before following his father into the technical off pitch side of the game.

The 38-year-old also played for Barcelona and won nine caps for Holland.

He hung up his boots in 2010.
