Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that he will send Brazilian youngster Fabio da Silva on loan next season in a bid to secure the 21-year-old regular first team football.

Da Silva has managed just one appearance in the Premier League this season and faces the daunting task of displacing France international Patrice Evra for a spot in the starting eleven.

And for Ferguson, sending the Brazilian, whose twin brother Rafael is also at Old Trafford, out on loan makes sense.

"I hope that Fabio will develop the same way as his twin [Rafael] and, to help him, he will go out on loan next season to give him concentrated first-team experience", Ferguson told United Review.

"I have already talked to him and he understands the value of playing regularly at a higher level than we can give him at the moment", added the legendary manager.

In total Fabio da Silva has made 15 appearances this season, clocking up playing time in the Champions League and League Cup.
