Out-of-favour Dutch winger Eljero Elia has confirmed he wants to quit Juventus.
Elia only signed up with the Turin giants last summer, but has struggled to convince coach Antonio Conte of his merits throughout the Serie A campaign.
Juventus won the Italian title with Elia only playing a very limited part – four appearances in Serie A – and the future does not look bright for the former FC Twente man if he opted to remain with the Bianconeri.
And so it is little surprise that the Holland star wants to leave.
"I want to leave Juventus. I want to play football again", Elia told Algemeen Dagblad.
"I have remained calm for the whole season by keeping a positive attitude towards the team and the club, but I never got a chance to show my skills.
"I have not played and because of this I lost the chance to take part in the European Championships. I can say that this season has been a failure.
"The situation has hurt me, but it also made me stronger. I am 25 and I have a long career ahead of me. I need to start afresh."
There is likely to be significant interest in the speedy winger, especially from his native Holland. Liverpool could also rekindle an interest held before the player moved to Juventus.
