Lille have given Sochaux midfielder Marvin Martin until Wednesday to decide whether he wants to join the club, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.

Martin has been targeted by Rudi Garcia’s side as a possible replacement for Chelsea-bound Eden Hazard, but the 2011 Ligue 1 winners need to know whether the 24-year-old is ready to sign up.

Lille are not the only side interested in the attacking midfielder, with a number of clubs having been linked with a swoop for his services, including Arsenal, Lyon and Marseille. From Spain too there is some interest.

Now though Lille want Martin to quickly decide whether he wants to be part of Garcia’s team for next season, otherwise they will turn their attention to targets elsewhere.

Martin is expected to leave Sochaux this summer, even if his destination is not yet clear.

He played 33 games in Ligue 1 last season, scoring twice.
