AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that any thoughts of a return to the San Siro for Kaka will have to be put on hold – the Brazilian is too expensive.

The man who cost Real Madrid €69M to sign from the Rossoneri in 2009 has had a troubled time in La Liga, failing to reproduce the form which made him one of the best playmakers in world football.

Kaka is expected to be on the move from the Bernabeu if the right offer comes his way this summer, while there has even been some chatter that Real Madrid may consider cancelling his contract to shift his substantial salary off the wage bill.

But even without a transfer fee, Milan would not be able to afford the wages required to re-sign Kaka, Galliani has insisted.

"He earns a salary that is so high he can’t leave Spain", said the Rossoneri deal-broker.

"Ultimately, he can go to other countries, but not to Italy, where his salary would cost twice as much", added Galliani, hinting at the advantageous tax regime in Spain for professional footballers.

Kaka made 27 appearances in La Liga for Los Blancos last season, scoring five goals.
