Bayer Leverkusen are moving towards signing Real Madrid starlet Daniel Carvajal. The 20-year-old Real Madrid player is primarily a right-back and has been used as a cover for Spanish internationals Sergio Ramos and Alvaro Arbeloa.

Carvajal is highly-rated by Los Blancos’ management, but it seems Leverkusen’s offer may be good to refuse.

It is believed that the German giants have bid around €6M-8M for the young Spanish defender and the Real Madrid management have accepted it. It is thought that only a few formalities remain before the deal is officially announced by the clubs.

The young right-back started his professional career with Real Madrid’s Castilla team in 2010. The Spanish Under-19 international played 44 games for Real Madrid B and even managed to score two goals.

Carvajal also featured in 12 Under-19 internationals and was a part of the Spanish team that won the European Under-19 Championship in 2011.

Werkself were in the market for a back-up to Daniel Schwaab at right-back and seemingly the Leverkusen management have picked Carvajal for the job.

Bayer Leverkusen must be hoping that the talented defender has learnt his trade well under the coaching of Jose Mourinho and by training with the likes of Sergio Ramos and Alvaro Arbeloa. Werkself manager Sami Hyypia looks to have high hopes for Carvajal as he is ready to splash a lot of cash on the unproven defender.

Only time will tell whether the Spanish youth will repay the faith shown in him by Hyypia or whether he may prove to be another talented youngster who struggles to cut it at the highest level.
