Wesley Sneijder’s agent has strongly denied speculation that his client could be on the move to Anzhi Makhachkala this summer.

Anzhi raided Inter last year for striker Samuel Eto’o and this time around Sneijder has emerged as a potential target for Guus Hiddink’s men.

But the Holland international’s agent, Soren Lerby, has ruled out the prospect of the schemer playing his football in the Russian Premier League next season.

"These is absolutely no truth [in Sneijder to Anzhi]", said Lerby.

"The rumours are just weak fantasies", he added.

"There’s nothing between Anzhi and Wesley."

Sneijder has been constantly linked with a switch away from the Nerazzurri for the past year. Indeed, last summer he seemed set to sign for Manchester United.

A lucrative pay day in Russia could still turn the midfielder’s head, with speculation Eto’o would join the Dagestan club equally dismissed at one point.
