Carlo Ancelotti Beams with Delight at Thiago Silva Capture

Sunday, 15th July, 2012

Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has saluted the arrival of Thiago Silva at the Parc des Princes.

Ancelotti’s side have completed the signing of the centre back from AC Milan and Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also expected to make the same journey shortly.

For the former Chelsea manager, securing Silva is a superb piece of business and has delighted the Italian.

"He is one of the best defenders in the world", said Ancelotti, speaking about Silva.

"I am very pleased with the arrival of Thiago Silva. With him and the others we can form a very reliable defence."

And Ancelotti knows exactly what he is getting with the Brazil international.

"I know Thiago well because I worked with him for six months", added the ex-Milan coach.

"The club has done very well and is trying very hard to become champions – he is here to win."
