Dimitar Berbatov has confirmed that it is better for all concerned if he exits Manchester United this summer.

The Bulgarian striker was been widely linked with a switch away from Old Trafford after struggling for playing time with the Red Devils last season.

Manchester United activated a clause extending Berbatov’s contract for an extra season earlier this year, but the former Tottenham Hotspur man is still well down the striking pecking order at the English giants.

And Berbatov has admitted that his time at the Red Devils is coming to an end, even if there is confusion over the exact amount needed to sign him.

"Because I am tired of speculation, I am telling you this", said the Bulgarian on his official Facebook page.

"I read the papers and I see they say £10M is my price. I go and talk with Sir Alex [Ferguson] and he says to me £5M.

"So who is telling the truth? What do you think?

"And the truth is, I love this club but I am not going to be useful to anyone, if I am not playing. And I want to play, I want to help. But for unknown reasons it is not going to happen, or my chances will be limited, so it is better for everyone if we say goodbye.

"If not, I am professional and I will keep doing everything I can, to help my team and my team-mates whenever I have the opportunity to do so."
