Dimitar Berbatov would love to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic at AC Milan, so much so that he would walk all the way to Italy, according to his agent Emil Dantchev.

The Bulgarian hitman wants out of Manchester United after slipping down the striking pecking order – at the weekend Berbatov admitted that it is better for all concerned if he exits Old Trafford this summer.

And a switch to AC Milan, to replace Ibrahimovic who has joined Paris Saint-Germain, would fit the bill for the former Tottenham Hotspur goal-getter.

"Berbatov wants a nice club", said Dantchev to Calcio Mercato.

"AC Milan, the red and black shirt, it would make him look good", he added, casting Berbatov’s name into the ring for a move to the Rossoneri.

"I know that Milan are looking for a new striker", the agent continued.

"Dimitar would walk to Milan. He has great respect for the club."

Under contract at Old Trafford until 2013 however, the Italian giants must negotiate with Manchester United if they are tempted by Berbatov, Dantchev insists.

"Milan must first talk to Manchester United to agree a deal."

Whether the Serie A outfit are interested in Berbatov remains to be seen, but Milan do need to replace Ibrahimovic and the goal threat the Swedish international offered the team.
