FC Twente are Luc Castaignos’ priority his agent has confirmed.
Steve McClaren’s Tukkers want the Inter striker to replace Luuk de Jong, who has departed Enschede for Borussia Monchengladbach in a €15M deal.
And Castaignos wants to continue his footballing development at Twente, despite offers being on the table from elsewhere. It is for this reason that the player’s representatives will give the Tukkers every chance to close a deal for the former Feyenoord man.
“Luc has chosen FC Twente but we still need to negotiate”, said Karim El Atmani to De Telegraaf.
“Saying things like there is an agreement in principle is premature”, added the agent.
“I think we definitely need a few more days to talk. If we don’t reach an agreement with FC Twente then I will talk with the player to discuss other options.”
Castaignos joined Inter last summer from Dutch side Feyenoord.
He made six appearances in Serie A last season, finding the back of the net once.
