Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has backed his countryman Luuk de Jong’s switch to the Bundesliga.
De Jong has joined Borussia Monchengladbach from FC Twente for €15M and has been lauded as one of Holland’s most exciting young talents.
Now the 21-year-old will join Huntelaar, who turns out for Schalke, in playing his football in Germany’s Bundesliga.
It is a switch the man who scored 48 goals in 48 games last season backs.
“I’ll look for him when we have our Bundesliga encounter and it is a good choice”, said Huntelaar.
"Borussia have a good team and last season they performed excellently”, he added.
Huntelaar also believes that De Jong should be able to adjust to German football, which he does not see as markedly different from the Dutch game.
“I think Luuk will adapt quickly”, he said.
