Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that centre back Mamadou Sakho will not leave the Parc des Princes despite the arrival of Thiago Silva.

Sakho had indicated that if PSG brought in another top quality defender he would have to consider his future.

But Ancelotti does not want to part with the club’s youth product and believes there is no reason for the 22-year-old to leave the French capital.

"He did not say he wanted to leave", insisted the former Chelsea boss.

"He is an important player for the team.

"He is young, he has many qualities, he was trained at PSG and he will be important as we prepare for the Champions League."

Nevertheless Sakho, who played 22 times in Ligue 1 last season, has another challenge in front of him with the signing of Brazil international Silva.
