Pablo Orbaiz Heads to Rubin Kazan for Talks

Spanish midfielder Pablo Orbaiz has travelled to Russia for talks with Rubin Kazan.

The 33-year-old spent last season on loan at Greek giants Olympiacos from Athletic Bilbao, but is surplus to requirements at the San Mames.

And so Orbaiz, who joined the Basque outfit in 2000 from Osasuna, could be poised to play his football in the Russian Premier League next season.


Marcelo Bielsa’s men have granted permission for the 33-year-old to speak with Rubin and he is expected to be offered lucrative terms to move east.

Orbaiz has just one year left on his contract with Athletic Bilbao.

At Olympiacos last season he clocked up 38 appearances, picking up the Greek Super League and Greek Cup in the process.
