French club Lyon are interested in snapping up Brazilian forward Nene from Paris Saint-Germain with a view to replacing Michel Bastos who could move move away from the former Ligue 1 champions.
Les Gones have already expressed their interest in several PSG players, including defender Mahmadou Sakho and midfielder Clement Chantome, and are now keeping a close eye on the 31-year-old Brazilian, according to Le Progres.
PSG have been on a signing spree already in the current transfer window and the arrival of many new players has begun to worry the old guard with regards to how many games they will play at the Parc des Princes.
One such player is last year’s top goalscorer Nene, who may lose his place in the starting line-up to recent additions Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Ezequiel Lavezzi.
And with such big names arriving, Nene may well find himself to be surplus to requirements, with Les Parisiens mooted as ready to part ways with the player for €7M.
The fee is reasonable for a forward who netted 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season and Lyon, who will be one attack-minded player short if Bastos leaves, can surely match the asking price.
The deal would be a profitable one for Les Gones as the French side are expecting €10M from Bastos’ sale, presenting them with a potential profit of €3M.
