Belgian legend Enzo Scifo has revealed that he knew Eden Hazard was set to be a very special talent when he worked with the youngster at Tubize.

Scifo, who gained 84 caps for Belgium between 1984 and 1998 in a glittering playing career, stumbled across a 14-year-old Hazard while in charge at Tubize.

And the talented former midfield schemer instantly recognised the ability which would late propel Hazard to the top of world football.

"One afternoon, when I was coaching the 14-year-olds, I discovered a true phenomenon", Scifo told France Football.

"He was already very strong and I had not witnessed something like that for a long time", he continued.

And Scifo insists he never had any doubt that Hazard, who joined Champions League winners Chelsea this summer, would make it to the top of the tree.

"Some were very sceptical about his mental and physical development.

"For me, I was sure that we had before us a player with a great future.

"I am delighted that I was right."

Hazard must now reproduce the form he showed in Ligue 1 for Lille with Chelsea as he bids to take his game up another level still.
