Marseille president Vincent Labrune has sought to stamp on speculation that defender Nicolas N’Koulou could be sold to raise funds this summer.

Labrune’s side are believed to need to offload a star name in order to hand new coach Elie Baup the funds to bring in several fresh faces.

Of late it has been suggested that both AC Milan and Manchester City are looking in N’Koulou’s direction and spy a chance to take the 22-year-old away from the Stade Velodrome.

But Labrune has been keen to quash talk that the south coast club could sell the highly-rated Cameroon stopper.

"N’Koulou is not for sale", the Marseille supremo told La Provence.

"Our position is set and it is final", he added.

The news is welcome for Marseille’s fans, who had been fearful that N’Koulou could be sold for the right price, while the player himself is also known to fancy remaining at the Stade Velodrome.
