Javier Pastore has called for Nene to stay at Paris Saint-Germain for the new season.

Nene has been linked with a number of clubs this summer – most recently Rubin Kazan – and his spot at the Parc des Princes is under threat given the arrivals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marco Verratti.

It would then be little surprise if the Brazilian forward decided to go and PSG opted to cash in.

But Pastore is crossing his fingers for the 31-year-old to stay.

“He was our best player [last season]”, Pastore told L’Equipe.

“He is a true striker. A player who knows how to make the difference.

“We need him.”

Nene managed 21 goals in 35 Ligue 1 games last season as PSG finished second.
