Fulham boss Martin Jol has admitted that American international Clint Dempsey would like to leave Craven Cottage.

Dempsey has been consistently linked with Liverpool this summer, though no deal has yet been struck.

However, the 29-year-old forward appears to have been unsettled enough by the speculation to tell Jol that he wishes to leave.

And the former Tottenham Hotspur boss will allow him to exit the club for the right price.

“If we get the right price for Clint we will sell him”, said Jol at a press conference, also confirming the forward will not be in Fulham’s squad for their Premier League clash against Norwich City tomorrow.

Jol did warn however that if clubs are not willing to pay Fulham’s asking price then “he will stay.”

Dempsey joined the Cottagers in 2007 from MLS outfit New England Revolution.

He scored 17 goals in the Premier League last season.
