Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie would welcome striker John Guidetti back to De Kuip with open arms, as his side looked toothless in yesterday’s 1-1 draw against Heerenveen.

Ronald Koeman’s men missed a number of chances to win the game and the need for a clinical striker was clearly in evidence.

Last season Guidetti, on loan from Manchester City, found the back of the net 20 times in just 23 Eredivisie games – but he returned to the Citizens at the end of last season.

The Swede is desperate for first team football however, which he will not receive at the Premier League champions, and he has been linked with returning to Feyenoord.

And for midfielder Clasie, Guidetti’s return would be a welcome sight.

"If that happens, then of course it is great", said Clasie, when asked about Guidetti’s potential return.

"He scored 20 goals with us last year and was very important.

"So, if he comes, he is more than welcome."

Feyenoord will face opposition in their desire to bring Guidetti back, with Italian side Lazio and Turkish giants Galatasaray both having been linked with the striker.
