Napoli have snapped up attacking midfielder Omar El Kaddouri from Brescia for a fee in the region of €2M.

El Kaddouri joined Brescia from Anderlecht’s youth academy in 2008 and made a big impression for the Italian club last season, leading Napoli to take a keen interest.

Now the Azzurri have decided to snap up the 22-year-old, who will continue his progress under the watchful eye of coach Walter Mazzarri.

"He is an important player for the present and the future of Napoli", said president Aurelio De Laurentiis, when talking about the club’s new signing.

El Kaddouri has penned a five-year contract with Napoli.

Born in Belgium, El Kaddouri represented the country at Under-21 level, playing two games for the side last year.

However, the attacking midfielder changed his mind about which country he wishes to represent and was at the 2012 London Olympic Games as part of Morocco’s Under-23 squad.
