Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has finally completed his move to Real Madrid after a deal was agreed between Los Blancos and Tottenham Hotspur earlier today.

Modric was unveiled at a press conference in the Spanish capital after passing his medical and signing a five-year deal at the Bernabeau. The playmaker quickly expressed his delight at having finalised a move to the Galacticos and said that he will give his all for the team.

"It’s been a long process but in the end I am very happy that I’ve finally come here”, commented Modric.

“I am honoured and proud to be here, at the best club in the world. I am really excited and cannot wait to train and play”, he added.

The Croatian star stressed that he is versatile and can play anywhere in midfield. However, he also added that it is up to the manager to decide his best position in the Real Madrid line-up.

"I’ve played in the midfield and can play in all midfield positions, but my new coach will decide where he wants to use me as a player.

"I’ll be happy to play wherever he chooses. I’ll give everything to improve the team and get good results."

When asked about the prospect of making his debut Barcelona in this week’s Spanish Super Cup, Modric insisted that even though he has not trained with his new team-mates yet, he wants to play against the Catalan giants.

"I feel good. Still I have to train with the team but I’m ready to play against Barca already."
