Arsenal have reached an agreement with Macedonian club FK Belasica for young goalkeeper Deni Illiev, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.

The 17-year-old shot-stopper has been training with Arsene Wenger’s men and has made a positive impression on the French manager.

However, signing Illiev will be a difficult operation for the Gunners to conclude, given that Macedonia is not in the European Union and therefore a work permit will be required.

Illiev currently turns out for Belasica, who hail from the Macedonian city of Strumica.

The 17-year-old has been identified as possessing vast potential between the sticks and he will surely jump at the chance to land with the Gunners.
