Carlo Ancelotti’s position as Paris Saint-Germain coach is not under threat, despite the club’s lacklustre start to the season, the French side’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted.

PSG splashed the cash once again this summer, bringing in Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi, amongst others, but have started the new Ligue 1 season with three draws.

In fact, despite having a fearsome attack at his disposal, Ancelotti’s PSG have failed to score in their last two Ligue 1 games.

With Marseille having started with three wins, PSG are already six points behind the Stade Velodrome outfit after three games.

But Ancelotti, who takes his side to Lille tomorrow for what is now a crucial clash, is not under pressure.

"I am lucky to have one of the best coaches in the world. A fantastic man", said Al-Khelaifi to L’Equipe.

"He is not under threat at all.

"He will be there until the end of the season and even until the end of his contract. I support him 100%."

Ancelotti is under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2014. And while Al-Khelaifi’s words will be welcome, the Italian needs PSG to begin to fire soon, especially with a Champions League campaign on the horizon too.
