Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles could soon find himself on his way to Turkey.
According to a statement on Fenerbahce’s website, the Turkish giants are in discussions with the Blues over a possible future for the 29-year-old in the country’s Super Lig.
The Turkish transfer window closes on 5th September, giving both parties sufficient time to come to an agreement.
Meireles, who joined Chelsea for £12M from Liverpool on transfer deadline day one year ago, has had a mixed spell at Stamford Bridge so far, clocking up 31 appearances, but failing to earn a spot in the starting line-up on a regular basis under boss Roberto Di Matteo.
The former Liverpool man had been linked with a move away from Chelsea earlier this summer and Fenerbahce have prepared an £8M offer for the midfielder.
Meireles’ contract with the Blues runs until 2015.
