Veteran defender Cris has left Lyon to sign for Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The 35-year-old, who has made two appearances in Ligue 1 this season, has penned a one-year contract, with a clause to automatically extend that by a further year if he starts 25 games.

Cris has cost Galatasaray a fee of €1.25M.

The Brazilian enjoyed a long association with Lyon, joining the Stade Gerland outfit in 2004 from Cruzeiro and enjoying a thoroughly successful eight-year stint.

He quickly established himself as a club stalwart, helping Les Gones to the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Ligue 1 titles.

At international level, Cris picked up 16 caps for the Selecao, between 2001 and 2009.
