Bayer Leverkusen could offer veteran Dutch midfielder Boudewijn Zenden a swansong in the Bundesliga.
Zenden has been without a club since parting company with English Premier League outfit Sunderland last year, but has been reluctant to hang up his boots just yet.
Now the 36-year-old is training with Leverkusen in a bid to win a deal with the German side.
Zenden is thought to be looking for a contract until the end of the season in what may then represent his final campaign in the game.
Leverkusen are currently coached by Sami Hyypia; the former Finland centre-back played alongside Zenden at Liverpool from 2005 until 2007.
It remains to be seen whether Hyypia feels the Dutchman can do a job for his Bundesliga side, but Zenden would undoubtedly jump at the chance to play at the BayArena.
Zenden has played for a number of elite clubs, including PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona and Chelsea.
