Paris Saint-Germain could be poised to sign a shirt sponsorship deal which would erase their financial fair play worries at a stroke, according to AFP.

The French giants went on another spending spree this summer, notably snapping up Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva from AC Milan, Marco Verratti from Pescara, Gregory van der Wiel from Ajax and Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli.

relatedNewsStory But with UEFA stepping up the policing of their financial fair play rules, PSG could struggle to avoid sanction, unless they can find a way of dramatically increasing their turnover – but such a development may be on the horizon.

PSG are thought to be in talks with a Qatari bank over a shirt sponsorship deal which would be worth around €100M over four years.

Naming rights for the club’s Parc des Princes stadium could also be included with the yet unnamed sponsor.

At present the French outfit currently carry the name of airline Emirates on their shirts, which nets them €3.5M per year.

PSG’s potential new deal would be a dramatic upgrade and allow the club not to worry about UEFA’s financial fair play rules.

It remains to be seen what the exact terms of the potential deal would look like or if PSG can close the agreement.
