Lionel Messi May Be Greatest of All Time States Barcelona Coach Tito Vilanova

Saturday, 22nd September, 2012

Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova believes Lionel Messi may be the greatest footballer of all time.

The new Blaugrana boss has paid tribute to the little Argentine, who scored a brace last week to help the Catalan giants beat Spartak Moscow 3-2 in the Champions League.

Vilanova already rates Messi as the best player in the modern game, but believes it is also perfectly possible that there has never been another footballer as good as the 25-year-old.

And the Barcelona coach also thinks that his like will never be seen again.

"It would be fantastic for everyone at Barcelona if Messi ended his career here", Vilanova told Nova Sport.

"A player like Messi, you’ll never see.

"He is the best in the world and, if he is not already the best of all time, he is well on the way to being so."

Vilanova will be counting upon Messi to be at his best for the entire campaign, with taking the Spanish title back from Real Madrid the club’s primary aim.
