Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his side could have got more than a draw against Manchester City in their Premier League clash yesterday.

The Gunners needed a late goal from defender Laurent Koscielny to snatch at 1-1 result at Eastlands, despite having more than lived with the champions throughout the game.

relatedNewsStory Wenger’s Gunners edged possession against Roberto Mancini’s men and enjoyed a number of fine chances to register more than one goal, with Ivorian forward Gervinho particularly culpable.

Arsenal’s performance pleased Wenger, although the Frenchman was still left with the feeling that his side could actually have come away from Manchester City with more than a single point.

"I am pleased also with the quality of our performance and our spirit", Wenger told his post-match press conference, before admitting "Also a bit frustrated because I feel there was room to do more."

And while the Gunners boss accepted Gervinho had a number of chances, overall he stressed his hope that the performance will act as a confidence booster for his side.

"We had early chances and very late chances, especially Gervinho at the edge of the box where he missed the target.

"But overall I hope this will reinforce our belief and confidence and reassure us about our potential in this league."
