Highly-rated Dutch international goalkeeper Michel Vorm has signed a new contract with Swansea City.

Vorm, who impressed between the sticks with the Welsh giants last season, has put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2016.

relatedNewsStory For Swansea, keeping the Holland star is a big boost, especially with other Premier League clubs having cast admiring glances in his direction.

But Vorm is happy to stay with Swansea and expressed his delight upon inking a fresh deal.

“I’m delighted. I’m enjoying my time here very much and it is one of the reasons why I’ve signed an extension”, the 28-year-old told Swansea’s official website.

“I can only see things at Swansea getting better and better”, he continued.

“I can see a lot of positive things happening here and I believe the club has a bright future ahead of it.

“The club has signed a lot of its quality players for longer periods which is a good thing.”

Swansea have suffered two Premier League defeats on the bounce in their last two league games, against Aston Villa and Everton respectively.

The Welsh side will be hopeful of ending that run when they meet Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.
