Zinedine Zidane No Longer At Real Madrid – Jose Mourinho

Sunday, 30th September, 2012

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Zinedine Zidane has left the club to pursue his coaching qualifications.

Zidane had been working at his former club as sporting director and also coaching some of Los Blancos’ young hopefuls.

Recently it had been speculated in Spain that relations between Zidane and Mourinho had become strained, but the former Chelsea manager has stamped on that and confirmed the Frenchman is no longer at the Bernabeu.

Indeed Zidane, who has gone on record with his desire to become a coach, has returned to France.

"You journalists have been sleeping", said Mourinho.

"It has been two months since Zidane left", he added.

"He told us he wants to go to the place where he feels best and he wants to coach.

"He is now in France and is studying for his coaching qualifications."

Zidane ended his playing career in 2006, hanging up his boots at Real Madrid.

He joined the Spanish giants in 2001 from Juventus, winning one La Liga title and one Champions League during his time at the Bernabeu.
