Ajax creative schemer Christian Eriksen has admitted to being flattered at talk of Liverpool showing an interest in him, but has pointed out he has no plans to leave the Amsterdam ArenA at present.

Eriksen is one of the most coveted young players in Europe and Ajax worked hard to ensure the 20-year-old stayed in Holland in the summer transfer window.

relatedNewsStoryThe Denmark international is continuing to attract much interest though and it has been suggested that Liverpool would love to welcome him to Anfield to continue his bright career.

And while Eriksen will not be drawn on the possibility of one day playing for the Merseyside giants, he does admit that the interest is flattering.

"Liverpool? It is very nice that such a big club is interested in me", Eriksen told Tipsbladet.dk.

"It is special to me, but I am not thinking about a transfer at this time", he added.

Pressed on what his plans may be for next season however and whether they could be in a different shirt to that of Dutch champions Ajax, Eriksen stressed it very much depends on what happens in the current campaign.

"My future? At the moment we don’t know.

"It all depends on what happens this season."

Eriksen is under contract with Ajax until 2014, meaning that if no new deal is penned before next summer, Frank de Boer’s men may have to sell the midfielder to avoid losing him for free the following year.

The Dane has made seven appearances in the Eredivisie so far this season, scoring two goals.
