Tasty Treble: Why You Should Bet on Germany, Tranmere and Fleetwood

We all like to dabble in a little football betting from time to time, and this weekend offers some interesting matches to get stuck into. I have been casting my eyes over the English and international football fixture list, and have come up with a treble that may prove profitable. Whether you choose to follow or not, these are my tips for this weekend’s matches:

League One – Tranmere Rovers to win at home to Yeovil Town (1.70)

An excellent start to the season has seen Tranmere net an impressive 26 goals in 11 league matches so far, and with the likes of Jake Cassidy, Andy Robinson and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro featuring regularly on the score-sheet Yeovil’s defenders are in for a busy afternoon on Saturday. The Somerset side have won four and lost six so far, and look destined to be a mid-table club for the coming months. They are good enough to take points off some of the top sides in this division, but I can’t see it happening this week.

League Two – Fleetwood Town to win at home to Wycombe (1.65)

Fleetwood have taken to life in League Two like a duck to water, and they look more than capable of pushing for a promotion place by the end of the season. A record of only two defeats in their 11 league games so far has been impressive, and they deservedly lie in third place at the moment. Junior Brown has found the net in the last two matches, and a Wycombe defence that doesn’t travel well will struggle to keep him from finding the net again on Saturday.

World Cup Qualifiers – Germany to win away to Republic of Ireland (1.44)

This looks to be an intriguing match-up, and it has to be said that the Irish are a tough side to beat when they’re at home. However, Germany have an excellent group of players nowadays, built on a backbone of Bundesliga regulars fused with a healthy smattering of superstars from around Europe. The current FIFA rankings tell us only Spain are better, although they also say that England are the fifth best team in the world so they can’t be relied upon completely. I think the likes of Gotze, Podolski, Reus and Klose will have more than enough about them to get the three points on Friday.
