Highly rated midfield schemer Christian Eriksen has put an imminent switch away from Ajax on the back burner, insisting he still has much to learn at the Dutch giants.

Eriksen was recently linked with a move to English Premier League giants Liverpool, something he admitted he finds flattering, but the Denmark international is not thinking of leaving the Amsterdam ArenA.

relatedNewsStoryIndeed, he is happy at Ajax and keen to develop further with Frank de Boer’s Dutch champions.

"When I say I am happy with where I am, I mean that seriously", Eriksen told Ajax Life.

"I feel that at Ajax I can still become a much better player", he added.

"I do not want to be judged on what I can achieve, but based on my current performances. I still have plenty to learn at Ajax."

Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots did stress though that talk of being on Liverpool’s wanted list is good for his client, even if he backs the youngster’s decision to remain with Ajax for the time being.

"We can only say that it is a big compliment", commented Schoots.

"But Chris is busy with Ajax and Denmark and he has very consciously chosen to be at Ajax and to develop."

All eyes will now be on Ajax to see if the Dutch club can stand firm and keep Eriksen, who clearly wants to remain, if a bid from one of Europe’s biggest clubs arrives in Holland.
