Dejan Lovren’s agent has played down talk his client could leave Lyon by insisting he is happy at Les Gones.

The Croatian defender is rated as amongst the best in his position in Europe and has been linked with a number of clubs, including Barcelona, while Roma are said to be the 23-year-old’s most recent suitors.

relatedNewsStoryHowever, Lovren is not about to leave the Stade Gerland, while there has been no concrete contact with Roma, the defender’s agent Nikky Vussan has insisted.

"Lovren is one of the best centre backs on the European scene", said Vussan.

"But he has recently renewed his contract with Lyon and he feels good in France.

"He’s been chased by many big clubs, that is true, but I have never talked to [Walter] Sabatini [Roma sporting director, ed.] or any other people at Roma.

"Whoever wants to buy Dejan will need to deal with Lyon."

Lyon scooped up Lovren from Dinamo Zagreb in 2010 and has quickly progressed his game at the Stade Gerland.

The defender is under contract with Les Gones until 2016.
