This weekend’s English fixture list is full of betting opportunities, but there are always some teams better placed to swell your pockets with profit than others. I’ve come up with another treble of bets that, when combined, should equal a winner this weekend. Read my reasoning below and see if I can repeat my success of recent weeks!

Premier League – Manchester United to win at home against Stoke City (1.30)
There have been questions this season about the strength of Manchester United’s squad and whether they will be able to compete with the big spenders at the Etihad and Stamford Bridge – and it must be said that some of their performances have been a little out of character. However, Manchester United’s 3-0 triumph at Newcastle two weeks ago was highly impressive and Sir Alex Ferguson will want more of the same. Stoke City, the great party-spoilers, will have other ideas, but I can’t see them being able to keep the likes of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney at bay for an entire 90 minutes, making 1.30 good enough value.
Premier League – Liverpool to win at home against Reading (1.36)
The loss of Italian striker Fabio Borini will put even more pressure on Luis Suarez and given the fact that the Uruguayan striker has played in Argentina and Bolivia in the past few days, he will have to dig deep here. Liverpool fans, already concerned about their lack of firepower up front, will be grateful for what looks like a relatively easy fixture here though. Reading are a good side, and in Brian McDermott they have one of the brightest young managers in the game, but they will struggle to get anything from the trip to Anfield. I expect a jaded Suarez to make the difference in this one.
League One – Swindon Town to win at home against Scunthorpe United (1.67)
Swindon have become one of the more inconsistent League One sides in recent weeks, but a good start to the season still leaves them in a decent enough position. Despite losing to Colchester at the County Ground at the start of the month, they are strong at home, and their vociferous supporters will want to see them return to winning ways in this match. Scunthorpe have one draw and three defeats in their last four matches and they look set to remain in the relegation zone for some time to come. I think Paolo Di Canio’s boys can do the business here.
