Werder Bremen sporting director Klaus Allofs has showered praise on Kevin De Bruyne, the Belgian midfielder the Bundesliga outfit have on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

De Bruyne has hugely impressed at the Weserstadion, instantly getting to grips with the German top flight and proving a key player for coach Thomas Schaaf.

Werder Bremen have admitted that they scouted De Bruyne for two to three years before he joined Chelsea from Genk, but were ultimately priced out of the race, not able to compete financially with the Blues.

However, the German side are now enjoying the benefit of De Bruyne and sporting director Allofs believes the midfielder is an exciting prospect.

"He has everything", Allofs told Belgian TV channel RTBF.

"He loves the game.

"Someone who wants to make a difference and has what it takes to do it – speed, technique. Now he must just learn a little more about the tactical side of the game here in Germany."

Allofs also believes there is scope for De Bruyne to become even better, with the 21-year-old still able to develop physically.

"He can still improve a lot.

"Physically, he is going to progress.

"Certainly, in the Bundesliga he will mature and perhaps judge how it is best to react in certain situations."
