Liverpool assistant manager Colin Pascoe has stressed the club’s delight at having Pepe Reina back between the sticks for the Reds.

Reina has made his return from injury, replacing Brad Jones for Liverpool during the weekend’s 3-0 Premier League win over Wigan.

Pascoe was delighted to see the Spaniard back, especially as he considers him to be one of the best shot-stoppers in world football.

"Brad came in and was fantastic, keeping clean sheets, but it was great to see Pep back and to get a clean sheet", Brendan Rodgers’ right hand man told Liverpool’s official site.

"Pepe is right up there with all of the [best] goalkeepers in the world.

"He’s got great feet, can spray the ball around, he’s got great hands and is a top goalkeeper."

It remains to be seen who Liverpool will play in goal against Young Boys in the Europa League this week, but it does seem clear Reina has reclaimed the number 1 jersey for the Premier League.

The Spaniard had injured himself while on international duty for his country.

However, the injury did not occur during the game, but instead in a half-time warm-up.
