Sevilla Striker Alvaro Negredo Ruled Out For Three Weeks

Wednesday, 21st November, 2012

Sevilla have announced that they expect to be without Spain striker Alvaro Negredo for three weeks due to injury.

The prolific 27-year-old picked up a thigh injury in the Seville derby against rivals Real Betis in La Liga action at the weekend.

Sevilla romped to a 5-1 victory in the match, although Negredo did not get on the scoresheet.

Negredo has featured in all 12 of Sevilla’s La Liga games so far this season, finding the back of the net seven times.

Now Los Rojiblancos face being without the striker for matches against Atletico Madrid (25th November), Espanyol (28th November; Copa del Rey), Real Valladolid (3rd December) and Espanyol (9th December).

Negredo joined Sevilla in 2009 from Almeria.

He is a product of Rayo Vallecano’s youth set-up, but had a spell with Real Madrid Castilla between 2005 and 2007.

At international level Negredo has won 12 caps for Spain.
