Anzhi Makhachkala coach Guus Hiddink has played it cool over a potential swoop for Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

The Dutch schemer has been strongly linked with a departure from the Nerazzurri, who are concerned about his €6M per year wages.

The Italian giants have proposed to extend Sneijder's contract, but only on a salary of €4M per season, which has not gone down well with the former Real Madrid star.

And they are thought to be open to selling him for the right price.

Sneijder's long-term suitors Manchester United, who have at several points been interested in snapping him up, have once again been linked with a bid, while wealthy Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala, who dealt with Inter in the summer of 2011 for Samuel Eto'o, are also thought to be a potential destination.

Indeed, in Russia the Holland international may have another option too, in the shape of champions Zenit St. Petersburg.

Anzhi Makhachkala boss Hiddink though is playing his cards close to his chest on a potential move, hinting that what happens to Sneijder is very much down to Sneijder.

"I know Sneijder well and I rate him very highly", Hiddink was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.

"You will have to ask him what his intentions are."

Sneijder has been out with injury recently and has only made five appearances in Serie A for Inter this season.

The 28-year-old's current deal runs until 2015.
