English Premier League side Sunderland have joined the race for Paris Saint-Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau, according to French radio station RMC.

Hoarau is surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes and only has six months remaining on his contract with Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

The 28-year-old was recently omitted from PSG’s winter training camp in Qatar in the latest sign that his time in the French capital is approaching its end.

Hoarau is a long-time target of English side Everton, while Liverpool have also been linked with checking up on his availability.

Now though it seems Hoarau has another admirer in the shape of Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland.

The Black Cats are looking to boost their squad during next month’s transfer window and Hoarau could fit the bill.

PSG will also likely not demand a steep fee for the striker given his contract situation at the Parc des Princes.

However, he looks set to have other options too, and not just in England.

Hoarau has also attracted interest from clubs in Turkey.
