Wesley Sneijder has denied reports from Italy that he has agreed to sign for English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

The Dutch playmaker has fallen out of favour at Serie A side Inter after refusing to sign a new contract which would have seen his wages cut from €6M per year to €4M per year.

The Nerazzurri are now ready to sell Sneijder next month and Tottenham have been mooted as a potential destination for the former Real Madrid schemer.

But the Dutchman has come down hard on talk he has already agreed to land at White Hart Lane.

"Nothing of that is true, absolutely nothing", Sneijder told the Algemeen Dagblad when asked about reports he has said ‘yes’ to Tottenham.

Transfer speculation is likely to continue to swirl around Sneijder until he does eventually leave Inter which, having played only five times in Serie A so far this season, it seems certain he must do to avoid spending the second half of the campaign warming the bench.

In a further sign of just how frozen out he has been in Italy, Sneijder was even allowed to leave the Inter squad early for his Christmas break, while the majority of the players prepared for the club’s final Serie A clash of 2012.

Sneijder is still on holiday and is set for talks with Inter when he arrives back in the new year. The Dutchman will hope to find a resolution to his uncomfortable situation in Milan.
