Juventus coach Antonio Conte has emerged as a possible successor to Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport.

The future of Mourinho at the Bernabeu is in some doubt given his strained relationship with several senior players, while it has also been mooted that he is struggling to see eye-to-eye with president Florentino Perez.

A switch to French giants Paris Saint-Germain has been heavily speculated upon and Real Madrid are thought to be considering who would come after the Portuguese tactician.

Current Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez is thought to be a contender, given his deep association with Real Madrid and standing in the Spanish game.

But now Conte is a possible option for Los Blancos too.

Real Madrid are thought to have been impressed by the work Conte has done at Juventus, with the former midfielder having restored the Old Lady to the top of the Italian game.

And this season Juventus have also performed well in the Champions League, booking a spot in the Round of 16.

Whether Conte though, under contract at Juventus until 2015, would be interested in taking over at Real Madrid, remains unclear.
