Chelsea may make a move for Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan, according to Spanish daily AS.

Turan has been in superb form for Diego Simeone’s men and has taken a large chunk of the credit for helping Atletico Madrid to rise above Real Madrid in La Liga and stay well in the running for a Champions League spot next season.

However, Turan’s agent has claimed that his client wants to leave the Vicente Calderon for a new challenge and insists the club are aware of the Turkey international’s wish.

Recently Arsenal were linked with the former Galatasaray winger.

And now Chelsea have been suggested as suitors for Turan.

Atletico Madrid will surely not be keen to lose the services of the 25-year-old midway through the season, but a tempting bid could cause Simeone’s side to consider their options.

Turan has played in 16 of Atletico Madrid’s 17 La Liga games so far this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists for his team-mates, helping the side to sit second in the Spanish top flight at present, nine points behind Barcelona.

The Turk’s contract at the Vicente Calderon runs until 2015.
