Franck Ribery has been honoured by his fellow players in the Bundesliga as the German top flight’s best performing player for the first half of the season.
German football magazine Kicker asked the Bundesliga’s players to vote and of the 224 that did, Ribery was selected by 35.5%, giving him the accolade of the top player.
Ribery has helped Bayern Munuch to a superb first half of the season, topping the Bundesliga with 42 points from 17 games.
The 29-year-old himself has played in 12 of Bayern Munich’s matches, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.
He also featured in all six of the club’s Champions League group stage games, as they topped their section.
Eintracht Frankfurt boss Armin Veh took the coach’s accolade home.
Veh has Frankfurt sitting fourth in the Bundesliga at the halfway point, with 30 points, and looking well placed for after the winter break.
