The agent of Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has admitted his client is close to moving to Bundesliga outfit Hannover on loan.

Djourou has struggled for playing time at Arsenal and gave notice over the summer that he wanted to enjoy more first team football. That has not materialised though and the player’s agent did declare that his client would be assessing his options this month.

And that looks set to lead to the Switzerland international moving to the Bundesliga in search of regular playing time.

Indeed, the move to Hannover is almost complete.

"Negotiations are well under way", admitted Djourou’s agent Flavio Ferraira when asked by Tutto Mercato about the defender joining Hannover.

"Let’s say that we are working to try and iron out the final details.

"Currently we’ve been working to find more playing time for the boy and Hannover is a good solution.

"We’ve spoken about a loan until June and then we’ll see."

Djourou has only played for Arsenal in the League Cup this season, making two appearances.

He has been at the Gunners since 2004 and is under contract with Arsene Wenger’s men until 2015.
