AC Milan hold an interest in Newcastle United full-back Davide Santon, according to Sky Sport 24.

The Rossoneri could cash in on Luca Antonini and Ignazio Abate during the current transfer window, something which would leave them with a clear need for another full-back.

Antonini and Abate have been linked with moves to a whole host of clubs and Santon would fit the bill as a replacement.

While the defender is happy at St. James’ Park, turning down the chance to join Milan could be difficult, especially if Newcastle are willing to let him move back to his homeland.

Santon is keen to push for a regular spot in Cesare Prandelli’s Azzurri squad, something which would be easier from the shop window of Serie A.

The 22-year-old has proven a key member of Newcastle’s side this season though, making 21 appearances in the Premier League.

He is under contract with the Magpies until 2016.
