Former Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino could return to management in the English Premier League, where several clubs are believed to be considering appointing the Argentine.

Pochettino was relieved of his duties at Catalan outfit Espanyol in November, with the side struggling at the foot of La Liga.

However, given the whole scope of his reign of over three years, Pochettino still enjoys a good reputation throughout the game.

Indeed, the Argentine kept Espanyol safe despite losing key players.

Still just 40 years old, the former defender is expected to have a bright coaching career ahead of him.

And according to Punta Pelota, Pochettino could make his return to the game in England, where Southampton are thought to be well aware of his unemployed status.

The Saints currently sit 18th in the Premier League and there has been pressure on current manager Nigel Adkins.

Whether Pochettino would be prepared to jump into a relegation battle however remains to be seen.
