Rangers manager Ally McCoist believes that Spanish striker Francisco Sandaza is due to go on a goalscoring run very soon indeed.

The 28-year-old has now returned to Gers’ action and played the full 90 minutes during the club’s 4-2 weekend win over Berwick Rangers in Scotland’s Division Three.

Sandaza helped to create three of the Rangers goals in an impressive all-round display.

The only thing that was missing for the Spaniard was to hit the back of the net himself, but that is something McCoist is sure will come for Sandaza.

"He is just crying out for a goal. It’s there for everybody to see. He works his socks off and was involved in a lot our good work on Saturday", McCoist told his club’s official site.

"There is no doubt the goals will come for Fran", he added.

Sandaza joined Rangers over the summer from fellow Scottish side St. Johnstone, penning a three-year deal at Ibrox.

The Toledo-born marksman has found the back of the net just once for Rangers in nine Third Division games so far this season, although his work to help others onto the scoresheet has been notable.

Rangers sit 19 points clear at the top of the table.
